Btec ND ict ... need help on learning styles and how to effectively learn skills...?
unit 1 communications and enjoyability assignemnt 1 M4 the tasks says Explain how individuals can use a knowledge of their learning style to improve their effectiveness in developing new skills or understandingDifferent people have different preferred learning styles, that is, they learn best a certain way. Explain how a person can use an understanding of their preferred learning style to help them be more effective in developing new skills.so ive read this and tryed but i can't really think of anything more and not sure if im doing the right thing so far ive written It can be useful for an individual to know their own learning style, and what various ways they can help themselves learn from this style. For example if an individual has a kin esthetic learning style meaning they learn best from physically doing something rather than conventionally being taught or listening to someone explain they could use this learning style to aid gaining new skills and understanding in area's of their interest.Once a person knows the way they are best able to take in information they can start to have an understanding about how to effectively develop new skills, eg going back to the example above about someone interested in fixing cars with a kin esthetic style the best way to find out more information about the engine of a car would be to possibly try to dismantle and resemble the engine. any help would be great

A question on learning styles.?
Any good teacher knows that not all students are alike, and we all have different means by which we learn. If individualized attention is not possible, we should use as many of these methods as possible to aid our students in learning. Audio, visual, physical, etc. But one thing this paradigm of learning styles does not address is something I would like to call 'Learning Syntax'. unless there already is a name for such a thing What I mean by this is that learning syntax is not the manner in which someone learns best, but in what terms does he she best understand the learning material. In which ways does the student learner best understand what is being described? For a personal example, until recently I have not been very good at math. I literally got pain when trying to think about it. It was just something about the WAY not the media of explaining the concepts that just made it completely counter intuitive to the way I think. My question is Are there any books that discuss this subject that you would recommend? As a teacher and life long learner such a book should be mandatory.

Why do people have different learning styles?

What is your learning style/ what are most people's learning styles?
I was recently introduced into 4 different types of learning styles. They are concrete sequential, concrete random, abstract sequential, and abstract random. I was curious what your style is? I am concrete sequential. I was also curious if you knew what most Americans are? Thanks for your time. If you don't know the answer, just guess Oh, huh. I did a survey, and about 33 % were concrete random, and 33 % were abstract random, and about 30 % were concrete sequential and 3 % were abstract sequential. Suprsing, huh. About 90 % of people who are concrete sequential are growing up to become teachers.More responses Thanks for the help

1. Describe one benefit and one drawback of completing a learning styles questionnaire.?

Different Learning Styles.?
Like when given a new video game do you ask how to do this and that or do you just play the game and learn as you play. When at your friends house and its your turn to play against your friend do you ask them how to kick, jump, move, run, etc. or do you just figure it out yourself. When youre in school and the teacher gives you a math problem do you go and ask for help right away or do you just try the problem and learn from your mistakes. Like in physics you have a group practicum and you have to find the time it will take the car going down a ramp from point a to point b. Do you ask the teacher right away for help, like what to do, what equation to use, ect. Or do you just try it and figure it out.So do you learn better from others or from yourself Im not saying that you avoid help all the time, but you only ask for help when you really have no idea what to do .I learn best from myself, even though it my take a little longer, I feel that I just learn more like from my mistakes and what not. Also what is this called, like i know that theres different learning styles I remember doing this thing in 6th grade when the teacher had the class make origami and we made it different ways, like seeing the completed origami and we copied it we were able to unfold the origami and fold it back up to see how it was done or we were given writen directions. i think there was another one too, like have directions but with pictures not words or something. Thanks.

Are there any kinesthetic learning style colleges out there?
I've recently learned that the reason I've struggled awefully in school was of the type of learner I am. Sadly, from what I've experienced in schools, these types of learners get in trouble for not being able to sit still and learn from a book. I am a physical learner, a tactile learner, a kinesthetic learner. Here is some information on the subject en.wikipedia.org wiki Kinesthetic learningI can't handle college because of the way it is tailored to learning styles that do not suit my brain. IT does not matter how much i " apply myself" , the way my brain works doesn't mesh well with the way college's teach things. This is horrible, since I have been told by many people I'm above average intelligent and very creative. I'm very frustrated, because I'm stuck in a rut in my life, because the next step is school, yet when I try I simply cannot learn. When I try to learn in a kinesthetic way, I learn immediately. The only problem, most colleges....well you understand by now, right? Please, if you know of ANY kinesthetic educational places........please let me know. There are probably many smart people out there who are kinesthetic learners who simply feel stupid because they can't make it in school or anywhere else that requires learning in a way that is not suited to their biological make up. I stand for all of us out there...If you know of anything, any resources, please help. Thank you for your time in reading this, you have my deepest regards.
